Genius on the Go’s tips on how to avoid email hackers
Email Spoofing/Phishing is a method where hackers trick users to think an email is coming from a legitimate source in order to capture sensitive information such as Usernames, Passwords, Credit Cards, and in some cases take control of the computer. Here are 3 tips on how to identify and prevent your information from getting stolen:
If you are not expecting the email do not click any links in the body. Instead, go directly to official company website to access your account.
Verify the full email address of the sender, especially the second part after the @, if it doesn’t look legitimate, it most likely isn’t.
Take a screenshot and call your tech support.
